After four great years, Dave Pickard retires as Hilldale’s Managing Director. Dave has led the organisation through a period of transformation across all aspects of the Association and leaves us in a much stronger position with the foundations in place for us to continue moving forward.
Dave also played a key role as member of the Change Housing leadership team and as a Board member. Change Housing provides Hilldale and its other subsidiary, Quays Housing, with essential services which includes finance, asset management, customer involvement, ICT and HR.
The Board and I thank Dave for his commitment, passion and hard work. We wish him well in his retirement.
In June, the Hilldale Board appointed James Place as our new Managing Director. James has been a member of the Hilldale Leadership Team for the last 14 months as Head of Operations. He knows and understands the challenges and opportunities for Hilldale and will lead the next phase of our 2023-26 business strategy.
This appointment also presented the opportunity for a successful handover period. Hilldale has many talented people and we are delighted to have had the opportunity to promote one of our own. The Board are confident that James’ leadership, experience and knowledge will keep driving Hilldale forward to achieve its strategic objectives.
James Place said: “I am delighted and honoured to become the Managing Director of Hilldale.
I have had the privilege of working alongside Dave and saw the impact of his leadership and the transformational changes he has made. I will build on Dave’s legacy and look forward to taking on the responsibility and challenges ahead to provide housing services that both our tenants and colleagues will be proud of.
I am committed to upholding our values and service standards and will work alongside colleagues across the wider group, the board, committees, tenants and partners to ensure we deliver our strategic objectives over the coming years.”
James is appointed as Managing Director on the 29 July 2024 following Dave’s Retirement.
